The 2025 Ford Mustang continues the legacy of its iconic sports car lineage while offering a range of contemporary engine configurations and trims to cater to different driving sensibilities.
Mustang EcoBoost
The EcoBoost is available as a fastback or a convertible. Both are motivated by the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, paired with a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission with paddle shifters. This peppy powertrain generates a spirited 315 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.
Mustang EcoBoost Premium
The EcoBoost Premium enjoys the same nimble engine as the base-tier trim. Like the base trim, it is also available as a fastback or a convertible. Where it differs is with the features and functionality that are included as standard.
Dual-zone electronic automatic climate control, only optional on the EcoBoost fastback, is standard on the EcoBoost Premium. A heated steering wheel is also standard, alongside heated sideview mirrors.
Mustang GT
The Mustang GT is only available as a fastback and packs a little more classic muscle than the EcoBoost trims, courtesy of a 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine. This pairs with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard to deliver up to 486 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque when properly equipped.
But the GT isn’t just about power. There are plenty of luxury refinements as standard, including:
- Leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel
- 6-speaker audio system
- 6-way manual driver seat
Mustang GT Premium
The GT Premium builds around the same 5.0-liter V8 engine, adding even greater levels of luxury refinement. The GT Premium is available as either a fastback or a convertible and enjoys heated and cooled front seats and a heated steering wheel as standard. Tech features like a universal garage door opener also come as standard, as do the sporty aluminum foot pedals.
Mustang Dark Horse and Dark Horse Premium
The Dark Horse and Dark Horse Premium trims are both available as a fastback only, and both have the brute force of a modified 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine at their heart. This pairs with the standard Dark Horse exclusive TREMEC 6-speed manual transmission to produce a staggering 500 hp and 418 lb-ft of torque.
Exclusive badging and grille designs differentiate the Dark Horse trims from their stablemates, as does the exclusive Dark Horse titanium anodized blue gear shift knob.
