2025 Ford Maverick: Everything You Need to Know About the Next-Gen Compact Pickup
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Available in five trim levels, the 2025 Ford Maverick offers the XL, XLT, Lobo, Lariat, and Tremor, each with a refreshed front end and updated lighting. The XL wears 17-inch steel wheels with sparkle silver covers, while the XLT upgrades to 17-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels and offers the FX4 off-road package option.
The new Lobo stands out with its lower stance, distinctive front grille, 19-inch jet-black wheels, and blacked-out roof. The Lariat features upscale 19-inch bright aluminum painted wheels, while the trail-ready Tremor comes with reinforced skid plates and 17-inch all-terrain tires.
Engine (Power)
The 2025 Maverick offers two powertrains. The standard 2.5-liter hybrid, available with AWD, produces 191 horsepower and 155 pound-feet of torque and pairs with an automatic variable transmission.
With an eight-speed automatic transmission, the 2.0-liter EcoBoost produces 238 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque for more power. Standard in the Lobo and Tremor models, this engine provides extra strength for heavier loads and trailer towing.
Performance
The 2025 Maverick is surprisingly capable given its size. All models can tow up to 2,000 pounds, or up to 4,000 pounds equipped with the 4K Tow Package. All trim levels can handle up to 1,500 pounds of payload.
The street-focused Lobo features custom gear ratios and sharper throttle response in Lobo Mode. For off-roading, the Tremor includes an electronic locking rear differential and Ford Trail Control. Both use advanced four-wheel drivetrains for improved traction across varied terrain.
Interior
The Maverick offers 101.5 cubic feet of passenger space. Front passengers have 40.2 inches of headroom and 42.8 inches of legroom, while rear passengers get 39.6 inches of headroom and 36.9 inches for their legs. The bed, 54.4 inches long and 53.3 inches wide, provides 33.3 cubic feet of cargo space.
A 13.2-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4 runs wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Available features include a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and a wireless charging pad. The FLEXBED storage system adds dividers and tie-downs, while a multi-position tailgate simplifies loading bulky items.
Safety Features
Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist is standard on all 2025 Maverick trims and includes pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with cross-traffic alert, a lane-keep system, a rearview camera, and auto high beam headlamps. Higher trims add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go and lane centering.
The evasive steering assist is handy when someone stops suddenly and you need to swerve safely. Towing experts will love the available four-camera system that shows what's happening around your trailer. Together, these features create a safety net that protects you, your passengers, and your cargo, giving you unintrusive peace of mind.
